My one day off in the week and I was sick. I NEVER get sick… well, I’ve got sick rarely in the past; but now off the back of nasty chest infection just a month ago, I now have horrible sore throat. Not as bad as the chest infection by any measure, but I do have a vague recollection of a sore throat preceding the chest infection – so I’ve given Self a stern talking to: if you DARE get any worse, I’ll… I’ll… Hmmm.
Sore throat may sound like nothing serious, but right now the debate going on inside my head concerns the costs and benefits of swallowing my saliva or just drooling for the day. Drooling is putting forward some compelling arguments.
I’m tempted to ask a doctor at work to write me a script; you know, accost some random kid in the hall way and demand he/she look at my tonsils and give me the good stuff. I’m thinking that could be somewhat of a faux pas in the hospital.

But oh, has it been done many a time....
I once had a doctor come up to me at a social gathering and press a script for chlorsig ointment on me (I had a rapidly developing sty....though apparently they feel worse than they look, but I was complaining of feeling like I had a quasimodo face).
Hope the drooling resolves soon..
